IThe Foundation
▲The Æcclesiæ — The Foundationi
Within the canon of Áltharós, The Foundation denotes the Æcclesiæ — the seven churches of the religion taken together as one living body. Caelánis, Glóssa, Áilithrá, Devotia, Sylvandrëa, Druúnara, and Aedhrómach compose the unified doctrine, the structure that the Aspirant ascends, and the body the Endtimes procession assembles.
Those structures are matters of doctrine. They are documented in full at altharos.church, where the Æcclesiæ live in their religious form. This section of esotericTradition.com documents the same body in its civic form — as the corporation that holds it, the office that stewards it, the personnel who carry it, and the legal and institutional facts under which the work is conducted.
▲Statement of Purposeii
Esoteric Tradition exists to produce, preserve, and transmit work attentive to the severe, the liminal, and the quietly devotional — not as style, but as method. Our mandate is generational. We build cultural, educational, and material infrastructure intended to outlast its founders and to remain serviceable when the present age has passed.
We are the cultural and corporate arm of the Æcclesiæ. The Foundation does not require assent to the religion's doctrine of those who engage with our public work; it requires only that those engaging with us do so in earnest.
▲The Office of the First Prestigeiii
The corporation is presently held in trust by the First Prestige, in whose office editorial authority, doctrinal stewardship, and the conduct of religious services reside. The First Prestige is the founder and currently the sole permanent officer of the corporation; succession will be addressed by the Foundation when the institution can support it.

▲Code of Conductiv
We extend our work in good faith. We do not engage in proselytism, in coercion, or in any practice that asks of those we serve more than they have freely chosen to give. Our spiritual and counseling services are conducted in confidence and within the limits of our competence; matters beyond that competence are referred to those qualified to attend to them.
We require of those we engage — collaborators, correspondents, those entering our care — only that they treat the work and the people of Esoteric Tradition with the same seriousness we extend to them. The full code of conduct, as it applies to commissions, services, and ministry, is held in a separate document, available on request to the Office of the First Prestige.
▲Dated Historyv
The corporation maintains a continual record of its works. The Athenæum holds the cultural archive in detail; the abbreviated institutional record is held here.

▲Legal Statusvi
Esoteric Tradition is constituted as a creative society and emergent religious corporation. We pursue formal religious recognition where it is conducive to the long horizon of the work; we do not pursue recognition where the cost of that recognition compromises the integrity of the institution. The current state of recognition, in any jurisdiction, is documented in the Annual Report.
Rev. Matron Thorn is off social media. Direct inquiry to his office at Esoteric Tradition, all messages will be read. Some will be answered.
In Finland, Winter is finally dying. Rev. Matron Thorn will begin producing new artwork and new collaborations will be revealed when the time comes.

▲Editorial Standardi
We publish work that does not need to be published quickly, by writers who are willing to be edited, on subjects that warrant the page they will occupy. We do not run a list defined by genre; we run a list defined by seriousness. The catalogue will accumulate slowly and survive long.
Books issued under this imprint are produced to a single standard regardless of subject — typeset for the eye, printed for the hand, bound for the long shelf. The same applies to digital editions: every title we issue digitally is offered in formats fit for archival reading, not consumed reading.
▲Inaugural Titlesii
The inaugural list, set down for issue across MMXXVI and MMXXVII, comprises the works under the editorship of the First Prestige.
- The SainthoodA trilogy. Cyberpunk fiction in three volumes, set in the late horizon of the present age.Author: Matron Thorn · Forthcoming MMXXVI–MMXXVII
- Serial Killer IdeologyA poetry and visual collection. On violence, devotion, and the figure of the witness.Author: Matron Thorn · Forthcoming MMXXVI
- The OraclæumCanonical edition. The principal scriptural document of Áltharós, prepared for publication.Editorship: The First Prestige · Forthcoming MMXXVII
- Áltharós QuarterlyA periodical. Doctrinal, scholarly, and editorial writing on the tradition.Quarterly · First issue MMXXVI
▲Submissionsiii
We do not at present accept unsolicited manuscripts. The list is closed to outside submissions while the inaugural titles are prepared. When the list opens, the conditions of submission and the editorial scope will be published in this section.
Press inquiries — for review copies, for licensing, for catalogue collaboration — may be directed to the Office of the First Prestige via the Correspondence page.
▲Distributioniv
Print editions are distributed directly through the corporation and through such trade partners as we determine appropriate to each title. Digital editions are distributed through our own catalogue and may be issued through partners on a per-title basis. We do not list our books on platforms where the conditions of listing compromise the integrity of the work.
IVInstitute
▲Mandatei
Our mandate is to make available, freely or at modest cost, the scholarship and instruction we are competent to offer. The Institute is not a church school. It is a public-facing educational arm of a corporation that takes seriously its obligation to teach what it knows, to those who have asked.
The first programmes of the Institute will be lectures and recorded series, drawn from the standing competence of the corporation: theology and the constructed languages of the tradition, religious music and its history, devotional and ritual literature, and the editorial craft as it is practised here.
▲Programmes in Formationii
The inaugural programme of the Institute is in preparation. Until the first lectures are issued, the Institute remains in formation, and this section serves as a register of what is forthcoming.
- Inaugural lecturesA series of public lectures on the architecture and grammar of the tradition.Format: Recorded · Forthcoming
- Recorded scholarshipLong-form recordings on subjects within the standing competence of the corporation.Format: Audio · As issued
- The AcademyIn the long horizon — a academy for those qualified to study within the tradition.Format: Forthcoming · No date set
▲Standard of Instructioniii
We teach within our competence and decline to teach beyond it. Where a subject is part of the tradition but is held by another scholar more qualified to teach it, we will commission that scholar; where no qualified scholar exists, we will defer the subject until one is available. The Institute will not run a course for the sake of the course.
Recordings are issued in their entirety. We do not sell teaching in fragments designed to require further purchase. A lecture is a lecture; a programme is a programme; the conditions of access to each are stated plainly.
VMinistry
▲The Doctrine of Carei
We hold that care, when extended in good faith and within competence, is one of the few things a religious institution owes the world without condition. Our care is offered on the basis of need, not affiliation; we do not require those we attend to share our doctrine, our practice, or our ends.
The Ministry will, over time, build the institutions that this principle requires of us. The work begins with what we are competent to do today and extends from there as the corporation grows.
▲Services Currently Extendedii
At present, the Ministry extends two services: religious services and spiritual counseling, both by appointment with the Office of the First Prestige. Both are conducted in confidence, within the limits of our competence, and at no cost or honorarium that exceeds reasonable expense.
- Religious servicesRites of passage, dedication, blessing, and remembrance. Conducted in person where possible; remotely where required.By appointment · Counsel: Rev. Matron Thorn
- Spiritual counselingConfidential consultation on matters of devotion, vocation, and discernment. Not a substitute for clinical mental health care.By appointment · Confidence assured
- ReferralWhere a matter exceeds our competence, we will refer to those qualified to attend to it. We do not retain those we cannot serve. As required
▲The Care Arm — In Formationiii
The wider care arm of the Ministry is in formation. The work we intend to undertake, as the corporation gains the resources to undertake it, includes addiction recovery, mental-health support, protection of women and children at risk, hospice and end-of-life care, and clinical work conducted in partnership with qualified practitioners.
We do not at present claim to operate any of these services. We state the intent here so that those who would help us build them, and those who might one day be served by them, can see the shape of what we mean to do.
▲Honoraria & Conditionsiv
Religious services and spiritual counseling are offered without fee. Where travel or material costs are required, we ask that those costs be covered; where the person seeking service cannot meet them, we will absorb them or decline the service rather than make it conditional. The schedule of reasonable expenses, and the conditions under which we may decline a request, will be published with the full Code of Conduct in MMXXVI.

Dispatches are drafted in the office of the First Prestige and reviewed before issue. The collective voice is intentional — these are the words of the institution.
Áltharós is a New Age religion founded in the year 2026 by Rev. Matron Thorn, First Prestige of Áltharós. It is composed of The Foundation, seven constituent Churches known collectively as the Æcclesiæ of Áltharós, and a canon — the Oraclæum — from which The Foundation takes its doctrine. Religious Corporation Esoteric Tradition is the planetary interface to the Aëthÿrinn.
Áltharós does not address the world through invitation. The existence of this online portal is a matter of public record; its doctrine is not a matter of public elaboration. The pages that follow disclose what is appropriate and permissible for the civic presence of Esoteric Tradition, and by extension, The Foundation. As well, this is the established presence of hidden maneuvers to be revealed only to those aligned in sacred pilgrimage to the Midnight Sanctum in the year 2036. Nothing more.
Those whose path has already brought them here in a manner they recognize may address the Office of the First Prestige in writing. All other inquiries are referred to the same.
Rev. Matron ThornFirst Prestige of Áltharós
The Foundation is the institutional body of Áltharós. It comprises seven constituent Churches, the Æcclesiæ, the canonical text of the Oraclæum, a para-governing office, and the observances that bind them. Its civic name is the Parish of Esoteric Tradition. Its doctrinal name is Áltharós.
The Foundation holds that authority proceeds from the canon. It does not proceed from the institution to the canon. For this reason, the office of the First Prestige is the canon's present custodian rather than its origin.
The present First Prestige is Rev. Matron Thorn, by whose hand the canon was set down and under whose authority the Foundation enters the period of canonical consolidation.
The Foundation is in the process of civil registration under the statutes of the jurisdictions appropriate to its governance. The Parish of Esoteric Tradition is the operational name under which this work proceeds. Its seat is in Finland.
Office of the First PrestigeParish of Esoteric Tradition
Finland · MMXXVI
The canonical scripture of Áltharós is the Oraclæum. It was set down by the First Prestige following what the tradition names as Nescience — the mystical knowing under which the doctrine was received. The manuscript is the authoritative statement of the Foundation's theology, cosmology, and observance.
The Oraclæum exists, in its authoritative form, as three leather-bound manuscripts. These are the canonical physical objects of the Foundation. No digital, printed, or commercial edition supersedes them.
The Oraclæum is not reproduced in public. Passages are not published, excerpted for promotion, or presented outside the governance of the Foundation. This is a doctrinal matter, not a matter of policy — the canon addresses those whom it addresses in the condition in which they are addressed, and the publication of its content to any other audience is understood to falsify it. However, a limited number of public editions sanctioned by the Office of the First Prestige will become available to those that seek them.
The canon is in a period of consolidation. Its structure is complete; certain sections remain in the process of being finalized under the authority of the First Prestige.
The Foundation is composed of seven Churches. Each is a domain of labor and a register of the canon's theology. The civic descriptions given here are the names under which the Churches are referred to outside their doctrinal context.
- I.Áilithrá — Church of Divination
- II.Sylvandrëa — Church of Verdant Equilibrium
- III.Glóssa — Church of Lexicon
- IV.Aedhrómach — Church of Sovereign Order
- V.Caelánis — Church of Spirit, Craft, and Materia
- VI.Druúnara — Church of Clairvoyance
- VII.Æolandéir — Church of the Ethereal
The Churches are not congregations in the ordinary civic sense. Each is defined by a domain within the canon's theology and by the labors that proceed from it. Further description of those labors belongs to the canon.
The Foundation observes seven tenets — the Triskelion of Sevens — under which the Churches operate in common. The tenets are named below without elaboration; their content is a matter of the canon.
- Clandestia
- Divinatria
- Devotia
- Endura
- Ekstasiia
- Abscondia
- Catharsia
Áltharós understands itself to be in a definite period of its own history. The period now in progress is the period of canonical consolidation: the period during which the Oraclæum is finalized in its authoritative form, during which the Foundation is entered into civil registration, and during which the Office of the First Prestige stands alone as the governing seat.
The periods that will follow are matters of the canon. They are not advertised as a schedule or a calendar. The Foundation acknowledges only the present period, and the horizon of its own eschatology, which is named in the canon and not here.
The Foundation does not receive aspirants to the religion in the ordinary civic manner during this period. The reasons for this belong to the doctrine. A petition to the Office remains open to those with cause.
Dated in the year of the Foundation: MMXXVI.The Office of the First Prestige is the governing seat of the Foundation and its sole addressable authority during the present period. All inquiries — civic, scholarly, doctrinal, personal — are received at the Office.
Those who address the Office are asked to observe the conventions of the Foundation: petitions are received, not requested of; they are reviewed in silence; a response is not guaranteed and is not owed. The Office does not respond to petitions whose character falls outside the concerns of Áltharós.
The Foundation does not solicit or receive donations. It does not provide services. The Office is addressed for matters of the Foundation alone.
The Sedition Institute
The Sedition Institute is a body of digital installations issued under the imprint of Esoteric Tradition. Each piece is its own contained territory; entry is one-way and consequence-free, but not without effect.
The Altars
The Altars are inhabited works — installations and rites the corporation has rendered as standing things. Each opens in its own window.
